Began in April 1980

The Valley Trader was started in the year 1980. The goals were to produce a publication different from the rest in our vast area. One way, we did this, was with the use of color on our front page. The second was to catagorize the classifieds. No other FREE paper was doing this at the time. In fact, we are still the only FREE paper classifying our ads. Our beginning was rocky, mainly due to some partners (no longer a partnership), but now The VAlley Trader is sole owned by Max A Oberdorf of Lewisburg.
